Bombay – High - on Fashion! "Style is a personal expression of one's self & fashion is an impression of one's-style into the expressions of many."

Mumbai, December 21st  2011

Bombay – High - on Fashion!

"Style is a personal expression of one's self & fashion is an impression of one's-style into the expressions of many."

… So read a large standee, titled ‘High on Fashion’ outside Bombay High (a unisex formal clothing brand), at Link Road (Bandra’s famous shop-street) – .  The event itself was described as a meet-up for famous fashion bloggers from Mumbai, to interactively sample the store’s finest formal wear.

Contrary to the usually dull store tours, Bombay High creatively delivered an interactive, unique and fun experience for their guests. The bloggers/stylists were then instructed to give senior corporate ladies (also invited to the event) a personal stylized makeover, using whatever they wished from within the entire store’s formal wear and accessory collection. The evening was set a-buzz as the stylists rushed to and fro, carefully examining the different clothes of the store, sportingly competing to give their respective corporate lady the best formal makeover for the day.

Shaina NC – famous fashion designer and political contestant – was the esteemed judge of the occasion, who concluded the exciting event by picking the style for the day and saying –

"Formal fashion in India is extremely boring and dull. Brands like Bombay High focus on making apparel for corporate women and men, who could do with fashionable formal wear. The right colors, teamed up with exciting accessories often materialize into the right look. I look forward to more such upcoming trends in the formal apparel industry.”

When asked about the event, the General-Manager-Operations of Bombay High said –

“Bombay High is a very young brand and our target group also comprises of those young at heart. This event’s success has made us realize that the best way to connect with such people, is through online social interactions, where we can also get our customer’s opinions in a more direct way.”

While Ashish Rajpal the General Manager-Product & Business Development added to that, by saying –

“An amalgamation of style and sophistication, that is what Bombay High is for us. It was only obvious for us to get the best of both the worlds (The Managers and The Bloggers), the main aim was to start a conversation between the two extreme groups and reach a midpoint. It was the 1st of many such opportunities.”

Bombay High - like almost all other brands of the day – has only recently gotten itself activated on the famous Social Media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, with the help of a social media marketing agency called ‘Social Seety’. ‘High on Fashion’ is Bombay High’s first online to offline (and vice versa) integrated event, conceptualized by ‘Social Seety.’ Social Seety is a integrated digital agency with a difference. They have clients like Future Learning, Celio and a couple of well-known restaurants in their kitty.

Speaking on the occasion, Shruti Nair, Co-Founder of Social Seety quoted that “Social Activations is the next generation of Digital Media. Many a times brand are confused on how to tap into their online community and have a one-one connect. Social Activations gives them a chance to penetrate into their virtual loyalists, create an experience and reach out to their consumer by bridging all gaps.”

Nowadays, word of mouth spread on well-known blogs, on frequented Facebook fan-pages and tweets by popular Tweeps (twitter users) has now become the most constant, direct and reliable source of advertisements, since it is purely user generated.  As for Bombay High, find out more about it and the ‘High on Fashion’ event on their Facebook and Twitter page at –
